Beyond the Battlefield: Simulated Logistics is Reshaping Air Force Wargaming
The Role of Wargaming in Advanced Simulations to Maintain Logistical Superiority
FTI team members, their families and friends, joined together on several initiatives to make a lasting impact on our communities over the last few months.
Computers and Labs for the Community
Our IT teams have a knack for donating computers and equipment to make sure local community nonprofits have access to technology to serve their communities. We recently set up a computer lab for the Victory Project in Dayton, Ohio - a mentoring and personal development program for disadvantaged young men. And thanks to our donation, Bellbrook-Sugarcreek Community Support Center was able to award each graduate of their adult-learner 25-hour computer basics course a commercial-grade laptop to help them continue in their studies, including two of whom are already enrolled in Sinclair Community College this fall.
May All Be Fed
In celebration of FTI’s anniversary in May, we annually run our May All Be Fed campaign to help serve food to those in need. This year, we set our goals around both fundraising and volunteer hours.
Across our locations where our employees work in offices or remotely, our volunteers served meals, stocked shelves in foodbanks, and gave time. One employee and his whole family prepared 85 meals for those in need in North Carolina. Volunteer teams in Denver, Colorado Springs, Saline, Huntsville, Beverly, Dayton, and Chesapeake packed lunches, served meals, and prepared food at local soup kitchens and food pantries. In addition to these many volunteer hours, we also raised nearly $50,000 for local food/hunger focused organizations.
Valor Challenge Blood Drive
Also in May we had our Valor Challenge blood drive in honor of Memorial Day. Team members and their families donated blood in the office or in local blood banks, for a total of $1750 raised and blood donations from 35 individuals.
Alzheimer’s Awareness Step Challenge
June brought one of our most important FTI traditions - our company-wide step challenge to raise money and awareness for the Alzheimer’s Association. Year over year, we’ve raised our goals – and met them -- from our initial goal of $30,000 in 2019. This year we were thrilled to announce we raised an incredible $156,180 to support Alzheimer’s research, care, and advocacy. Special congratulations to our top steppers: Adrian Archuleta, Shannon Timan, Greg Weber, Dustin Baker, and Kathryn Hall.
Back to School Challenge
Now, as the summer months get closer to the time that kids get back to school, we’re joining forces to help with essential school supplies for children in need and donations to partner community organizations including Crayons to Classrooms, YMCA, Ronald McDonald House, Beverly Bootstraps, and Lacey Spring School.
Our commitment to our customers and each other is expressed each day in the work we do at FTI - with our focus on making a truly positive impact and solving real problems. Our work in the community is a natural outgrowth of that commitment.
